‘Light gives of itself freely, filling all available space. It does not seek anything in return; it asks not whether you are friend or foe. It gives of itself and is not thereby diminished.’ – Michael Strassfeld
Jill’s formal training was as a printed textile designer, and following a career in industry, she returned to University in 2001 to study Fine Art and Printmaking.
She works with paint, mixed media, collage and printmaking, and a strong sense of colour and form are evidence of her initial training as a textile designer. Colour, line and light play an important role in what influences her as an artist.
Her work is a mixture of the formal and the abstract and covers subject matter ranging from landscapes, seascapes and still life.
