February – April 2018
Berkhamsted, Leighton Buzzard & Milton Keynes and Dunstable
The participants will work from a still life breaking down the shapes into their basic forms to look at ‘zones of tone’ rather than line to create their collograph plate
The plates are made up of the mount-board base and textured wallpaper, glue and varnish. Peeled board reveals the fluffy interior which will trap a lot of ink. Glue will resist ink and the other materials create mid tones.
Plates can be printed in a single colour in multiple colours using the a la poupee method of inking.
